He commenced his academic journey at Virginia Tech, delving into Mechanical Engineering and graduating with honors. After his medical degree, Dr. Richard pursued a general surgery residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. During this period, he refined his surgical techniques and cultivated a love for education. Upon finishing his residency, he opted to work at a rural hospital in Waynesburg, PA. In this capacity, Richard Payha conducted various procedures, encompassing surgeries and obstetrics, even assisting in delivering babies amidst snowstorms.
